Re-Imagining the Old to Embrace New Opportunities

I was recently reached out to by a young woman who works for Free Press Publications at Simon and Schuster, she had a simple request: Create a few illustrations to show the steps involved in constructing a shelter for one of 7 books they would be releasing this summer for all the top tablet/e-reader brands

As an artist, I’ve grown accustomed to looking opportunity in the face and grinning, for you can never really know what a seemingly simple project can become. In order for me to do this however, I have to be confident in the fact that I am capable and the right man for the job. I am. Just take a look at my work. It speaks for itself

I suppose I did leave off one very important detail, the painting I have posted above, now hangs in the office of a dear friend of mine who also works for Free Press. Never underestimate friendship, nor the marketability of beauty and the greatest campaign of all – Word of Mouth.

2012 will be the year that it all turns around and as we near the end of January, I see that it has already begun.
